OUR PRAYER

O Lord, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth – you who keep
your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly
in your way. You have kept your promise through your Son, Jesus.
Yet give attention to your servant’s prayer and our pleas for mercy,
O Lord our God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is
praying in your presence. May your eyes be open day and night, and
may your ears hear the prayer your servant prays, in the name of Jesus. Hear the supplications
of your servant and of your people, when they pray. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place; and
when you hear; forgive.
Hear our prayer O Lord, by faith, we confess with our mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in
our heart that God raised Him from the dead. We have accepted and trust Him as our Lord and
Savior. Help us to willingly and earnestly follow His command to love You, the Lord our God
with all our heart, mind, body, spirit, soul, and strength; and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Help us to submit to Jesus’ authority and pick up our cross and follow Him to reach the lost, by
following His commission to: Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that He has
commanded, preaching repentance and forgiveness of sins in His name to all nations.
Oh Lord, we pray that You will anoint and enable us wherever and whenever there is a need, to
willingly go and share the love of Christ; making every effort to help alleviate human suffering;
and to make ready a people prepared for the soon coming of our Lord.
For, we believe that the bible is the inspired word of God and that “Man does not live on bread
alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ” Fill us with Your word so that it may
become streams of living water to all that hear.
Make us, Lord, worthy to serve our brothers and sisters who are scattered all over the world, who
live and die alone and poor. Give them today, using our hands, their daily bread; and, using our
love, hope, and faith in You and Your Word encourage them. May we preach you with action more
than words, with the example of our actions, with the visible light that comes from You to our heart.
Lord, make us an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred let us sow love, where there is
injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness,
light; where there is sadness, joy. Lord, may we not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to
be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. Because it is in giving that we receive and
in pardoning that we are pardoned.
When we are weak give us strength, when we are afraid give us courage. When we see the hungry
enable us to feed them; the thirsty to give them drink; the naked to clothe them; the sick and dying
the faith to heal them; those in prison to comfort them; and a stranger, to invite them to come -
place it in our hearts to search for the lost, broken, hurt, sick, dying, and sinner and invite them to
come – just as they are to Your Son Jesus. Wherever they are let us go to them, so that we may
share the love of Christ.
Here are our hands and our feet, our heart and our speech, our mind, our will, and our emotions; use
them Lord for Your purpose and Your glory. Here we are Lord, send us.
With all that is within us, we humbly pray You will increase our faith and enable us to uphold the
commission of Jesus Christ and that we not shrink back from following Him. We ask this in the
name of Jesus. AMEN.
